No Delay for Suriya's Vishwanath and Sons; Makers Reaffirm August 14 Release

Speculation surrounding the release of Suriya’s upcoming bilingual drama Vishwanath and Sons has finally been laid to rest. Despite recent rumors claiming the film had been postponed once again, the makers have confirmed that it is very much on schedule for its worldwide theatrical release on August 14.

The rumors gained traction after the film went silent on the promotional front following the release of its teaser and first song. Since the project had already faced one postponement and producer Naga Vamsi has rescheduled a few of his previous releases, many believed another delay was imminent.

However, the team has now officially dismissed those reports by announcing that the film’s second single will be released on July 25. Along with the music update, the makers once again reiterated that Vishwanath and Sons will hit theatres as planned on August 14.

Although the film is yet to build massive pre-release buzz, trade circles remain optimistic. Director Venky Atluri has earned a reputation for delivering successful Telugu films with non-Telugu stars, including Dhanush and Dulquer Salmaan, raising expectations for his collaboration with Suriya.

The positive momentum is further strengthened by Suriya’s recent blockbuster Karuppu, which marked a successful comeback for the actor at the Tamil box office.

Featuring Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, Vishwanath and Sons is being positioned as an emotional family entertainer. With promotions set to resume through the upcoming song release, the makers are expected to intensify the campaign in the run-up to its Independence Day weekend release.
