After the underwhelming performance of “Vaa Vaathiyaar” in both theatres and on OTT platforms, actor Karthi is now pinning his hopes on the much-anticipated sequel, ‘Sardar 2’.
The makers have officially announced that the spy action thriller will hit screens worldwide on September 10, 2026. The film is set for a multilingual release and will be available in Tamil, Telugu, and other major Indian languages.
Directed by PS Mithran, “Sardar 2” continues the franchise that earned praise for its engaging blend of espionage, action, and suspense. The sequel features Malavika Mohanan and Ashika Ranganath as the female leads, while Rajisha Vijayan, Yogi Babu, and SJ Suryah play pivotal roles.
The film is being jointly produced by S Lakshman Kumar’s Prince Pictures and Ishan Saksena’s IVY Entertainment. Acclaimed composer GV Prakash Kumar is handling the music, adding further excitement to the project.
With the release date now locked, the makers are expected to kick-start an extensive promotional campaign in the coming weeks. Given the strong fan following of the original “Sardar,” expectations are high for the sequel to deliver a bigger and more thrilling cinematic experience.
