Teja Sajja is set to return to the world of zombies with Zombie Reddy 2 NXT LVL – Dead Or Alive, which was officially announced on the actor’s birthday. The sequel to the popular Zombie Reddy promises to take the franchise forward with bigger action, larger scale and a more intense zombie-filled world.
Director Prasanth Varma, who launched Telugu cinema’s zombie genre with Zombie Reddy, returns as the creator, while Suparn S Varma will direct the sequel. Known for his work across films and popular OTT projects, Suparn is set to bring a new visual and narrative approach to the franchise.
Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under People Media Factory, the film marks Teja Sajja’s second outing with the banner after the pan-India success Mirai. Real Star Upendra has been roped in for a key role, while Shanaya Kapoor will make her Telugu debut with the film.
The makers unveiled the title through a high-energy glimpse that gives a clear indication of what is in store. The video begins in reverse, showing a zombie crashing onto a truck before revealing a series of chaotic events involving Teja’s character and hordes of undead creatures.
The action-packed glimpse eventually shifts to Charminar, where Teja’s character takes on zombies with a bat. His line, “This time, next level,” leads into the title reveal, Zombie Reddy 2 NXT LVL. The video-game-inspired title design, featuring a joystick and a zombie hand, adds to the film’s youthful and quirky appeal.
Teja returns in a familiar avatar with his signature spectacles, but the sequel appears to be far more ambitious in terms of action and scale. The glimpse hints at a high-energy entertainer packed with zombies, humour and larger-than-life sequences.
Gowra Hari, who previously collaborated with Teja on HanuMan and Mirai, is composing the music. Abhinandan Ramanujam handles cinematography, Banglam is the production designer and Vijay Velukutty takes care of editing.
The screenplay is written by Hussain Dalal, Abbas Dalal, Prasanth Varma and Suparn S Varma, while Subbu K has penned the dialogues.
Zombie Reddy 2 NXT LVL – Dead Or Alive is scheduled to release in 2027 across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Nepali and Japanese. With Teja Sajja back in the lead and an exciting new combination behind the camera, the sequel is already generating curiosity among fans of the franchise.
