Dulquer Salmaan’s much-awaited fantasy thriller I Am Game has locked a new release date. The highly anticipated film will now hit worldwide theatres on September 3, 2026, promising a massive pan-India release across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.
The film was earlier scheduled to arrive on August 20 as an Onam release. However, the makers have pushed the date by two weeks to facilitate a wider theatrical rollout and take the film to more markets across the country and overseas.
Produced by Dulquer Salmaan and Jom Varghese under the Wayfarer Films banner, I Am Game is directed by Nahas Hidhayath, who previously delivered the blockbuster RDX. The screenplay is penned by Sajeer Baba, Ismail Abu Bakr and Bilal Moidu, while the dialogues are written by Sajeer Baba, Adarsh Sukumaran and Shabas Rasheed.
Announcing the new release date, Dulquer Salmaan revealed that the decision was taken to give the film a larger theatrical platform and reach a wider global audience. The actor also assured fans that the new date would allow the film to arrive on a scale matching its ambitious canvas.
The film has already generated strong anticipation following the release of its trailer and first song. Released in five languages, the trailer offered glimpses of spectacular visuals, high-octane action and thrilling chase sequences. Dulquer’s stylish and mass-oriented makeover has further added to the excitement surrounding the project.
Shot across more than 100 locations in South India, I Am Game is touted as one of the biggest productions in Malayalam cinema. The film marks Dulquer Salmaan’s 40th movie and features an impressive ensemble cast, including Antony Varghese, Tamil filmmaker-actor Mysskin, Kaayadu Lohar, Kathir, Parth Tiwari and Samyuktha Viswanathan.
Jakes Bejoy is composing the music, while the high-energy action sequences are choreographed by the renowned Anbariv Masters. Zee Music has acquired the film’s music rights.
I Am Game is the next production venture from Wayfarer Films following the blockbuster success of Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra. With its new September 3 release date, the film is now gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical launch and is expected to be one of the major pan-India releases of the season.
