Nabha Natesh: ‘Nagabandham Will Surprise Audiences; My Character Is Unlike Anything I’ve Done Before’

Nabha Natesh: 'Nagabandham Will Surprise Audiences; My Character Is Unlike Anything I've Done Before'

Actress Nabha Natesh is confident that audiences will be in for a major surprise with her role in the upcoming epic adventure thriller Nagabandham: The Secret Treasure. Starring Virat Karrna in the lead and directed by Abhishek Nama, the pan-Indian film is gearing up for a grand worldwide release on July 3.

During a recent media interaction, Nabha opened up about her character, the film’s massive scale, elaborate sets, and her experience working with the cast and crew.

A Powerful and Emotional Character

Nabha revealed that she plays Parvathi, a Vedic student whose character plays a pivotal role in the story.

“I have never portrayed a character like this before. Parvathi is emotionally strong and stands by her family and love under any circumstances. Every decision she makes has a major impact on the story. Audiences will definitely be surprised by my character,” she said.

A Grand Dance Sequence with 5,000 Dancers

The actress also spoke about filming one of the movie’s biggest dance numbers, choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.

The song features nearly 5,000 dancers and blends classical dance with devotional elements. Nabha described it as one of the most memorable experiences of her career, adding that the lavish set recreated a festive atmosphere reminiscent of Vrindavan celebrations.

She also revealed that the film features another visually stunning folk song apart from the already popular “Namore.”

Magnificent Sets and Spiritual Atmosphere

Nabha praised the makers for constructing nearly ten massive sets, each designed with remarkable attention to detail.

One of the biggest highlights is the recreation of the Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple, which she said gives the feeling of visiting the actual shrine.

During the temple schedule, the team maintained strict discipline by following a vegetarian diet, and daily poojas were performed before filming began to preserve the spiritual atmosphere on set.

Praises Director Abhishek Nama’s Vision

The actress was all praise for director Abhishek Nama, calling him a filmmaker with exceptional clarity and preparation.

She revealed that she was mesmerized when he first narrated the script. Every scene had been meticulously storyboarded during pre-production, with detailed planning for costumes, hairstyles, action, and performances.

“His vision is extraordinary. Every frame has been designed with precision, and I’m eagerly waiting to watch the film along with the audience,” she said.

Virat Karrna’s Dedication Impressed Nabha

Speaking about co-star Virat Karrna, Nabha praised his commitment and hard work.

“He doesn’t look like someone doing only his second film. His passion and dedication are remarkable, and all the hard work he put into the film will be evident on screen,” she shared.

A Massive Production Backed by ₹110 Crore Budget

Nabha lauded the producers for backing the project on a reported budget of ₹110 crore, ensuring there were no compromises in production quality.

She also appreciated the film’s unique promotional campaign, particularly the Anantha Padmanabha Rath Yatra, which has been receiving an overwhelming response from devotees and movie lovers alike.

According to the actress, the film’s VFX work is another major attraction and promises a highly realistic visual experience.

On Returning After Injury

Addressing the gap in her career after iSmart Shankar, Nabha revealed that a shoulder injury forced her to take a break from acting for nearly eighteen months.

She said she chose to return only after recovering completely, believing that an actor must be physically and mentally fit to do justice to demanding roles.

Excited About ‘Nagabandham’ and ‘Swayambhu’

Apart from Nagabandham, Nabha is also part of another ambitious project, Swayambhu.

Expressing her happiness, she said she feels fortunate to be associated with two large-scale films that have the potential to reach audiences across India and around the world.

Produced by Kishore Annapureddy and Nishita Nagireddy under the NIK Studios banner, Nagabandham: The Secret Treasure also stars Ishwarya Menon, Jagapathi Babu, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Rishabh Sawhney in key roles. With its grand visuals, mythology-inspired story, and extensive VFX, the film is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
