ZEE5 has expanded its children’s entertainment offering with the launch of Shivlok Ke Kundakka Mandakka (SKM) under its dedicated kids’ destination, KidZ. Created as a safe, fun, and family-friendly entertainment hub, KidZ continues to strengthen its content library with this original mythological animated series, which premieres on July 17.
Adapted from acclaimed author Anand Neelakantan’s bestselling children’s book The Very, Extremely, Most Naughty Asura Tales for Kids, the series introduces viewers to a vibrant new world inspired by Indian mythology. Rather than retelling familiar stories from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, Shivlok Ke Kundakka Mandakka explores fresh characters, magical worlds, and exciting adventures rooted in India’s rich mythological heritage.
The story follows Kundakka and Mandakka, two mischievous Asura twins whose playful nature leads them on an unforgettable journey filled with courage, friendship, and self-discovery. Packed with humour, action, and visually engaging animation, the series presents mythology through a fresh and entertaining lens for today’s young audiences.
At its heart, the show celebrates the idea that true heroes are defined not by perfection but by the choices they make. By placing two fun-loving Asura characters at the centre of the story, the series challenges conventional stereotypes and highlights that curiosity, mischief, kindness, courage, and empathy can all coexist.
Shivlok Ke Kundakka Mandakka also marks the beginning of a larger storytelling universe, laying the foundation for many more characters, adventures, and mythological tales in the future. The series aims to offer children an imaginative and engaging way to connect with India’s cultural heritage while enjoying entertaining, contemporary storytelling.
With KidZ, ZEE5 continues to build a trusted destination for children and families by offering safe, age-appropriate content that combines entertainment with meaningful values. Designed as a wholesome co-viewing experience, the platform encourages parents and children to enjoy stories together.
Shivlok Ke Kundakka Mandakka will be available to stream on ZEE5 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bangla, and English from July 17.
