Actor Sundeep Kishan is set to explore a completely new cinematic space with Karikaala, an ambitious pan-India socio-fantasy film directed by Ugandhar Muni. Backed by producers Mahidhar Reddy and Rajashekhar Annabhimoju under the Shining Pictures banner, the project has now been officially unveiled with an eye-catching title and a visually stunning first-look poster.
The first-look poster presents Sundeep Kishan in a striking new avatar as a fearless warrior. Riding through a mystical forest on horseback with a sword in hand, the actor is accompanied by a roaring lion, creating a powerful visual that hints at an epic adventure filled with action, mythology, and fantasy. The poster instantly establishes the film’s grand scale and rich visual world.
Inspired by the timeless charm of Chandamama fairy tales, Karikaala promises to transport audiences into a magical universe populated by lions, wolves, mystical powers, forgotten kingdoms, and ancient legends. Blending folklore with fantasy, the film aims to recreate the wonder of classic storytelling on a large pan-India canvas.
The project marks one of the most ambitious transformations in Sundeep Kishan’s career. Sporting a rugged warrior look unlike anything seen before, the actor appears ready to take on one of his most challenging roles to date. His intense makeover has already generated significant excitement among fans.
The makers have also announced that Karikaala will be released as a two-part saga. Chapter 1 is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on July 2, 2027, while Chapter 2 will follow on October 28, 2027, reflecting the scale and confidence behind the ambitious project.
Following the success of Shambhala, director Ugandhar Muni is mounting Karikaala on an even grander scale with extensive world-building, elaborate production design, cutting-edge visual effects, and immersive storytelling. The film is being planned as a multilingual release in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, targeting audiences across India.
The technical team features Sricharan Pakala as the music composer, with the makers expected to reveal more details about the remaining cast and crew in the coming months.
