The makers of Kattalan have intensified promotions with the release of the film’s first single, “Majako Mallika.” Designed as a high-energy mass number, the song showcases Telugu actor Sunil in a dynamic dance avatar, adding commercial punch to the pan-India action thriller. Well known to Malayali audiences through films like Pushpa: The Rise and Jailer, Sunil’s presence is expected to widen the film’s cross-market appeal.
The track is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, with lyrics by Vinayak Shashikumar and vocals by Anand Sriraj and Bhadra. Released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, the song underlines the film’s aggressive multi-language strategy.
Directed by Paul George and produced by Shareef Muhammed under Cubes Entertainments, Kattalan is slated for a massive theatrical release on May 14. The teaser has already generated strong buzz for its large-scale action sequences choreographed by internationally renowned stunt master Kecha Khamphakdee, known for his work in Ong-Bak.
The film stars Antony Varghese in the lead role, supported by a strong ensemble including Dushara Vijayan, Kabir Duhan Singh, Raj Tharandasu (of Pushpa fame), Parth Tiwari, and seasoned Malayalam actors Jagadish and Siddique.
With a pan-India canvas, large-scale action staging, and mounting pre-release buzz, Kattalan is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Malayalam theatrical releases of the year.
